LOAF
1/2 cup
(1 stick) butter Melt butter in a large saucepan. Stir in sugar. Add eggs one at a time, and stir until mixture is smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients in the order listed. Mix thoroughly. Turn into a greased loaf pan (8 1/2x4 1/2 inches). Bake in a moderate oven (325 degrees) for 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Allow to cool in pan for 5 mins. Then turn out on rack to cool thoroughly before slicing. Makes 1 loaf. |
